Epping to Chatswood Tunnel

Location: Sydney, Australia

This section of the rail tunnel passed through a national park and was originally proposed as a bridge. Due to community concerns they decided to tunnel below the national park. Cut and cover was the proposed method as the tunnel roof was just below the river bed.

  • Constructed in three stages and three separate sections, the base, the walls and the roof.

Requirements

  • Supply the roof form and walls
  • Forming up the soffit completely in spite of sloping roof and over 2.0m deep edge
  • Sloping floor at the edges
